Fraser is the largest sand island in the world with some dunes higher than 200 meters. The island has no many
beaches suitable for swimming, as there are sharks and strong waves in the open ocean. The most popular way to travel around Fraser island is a 4WD rally on the east coast. Shore and seabed: sand.

Useful information [edit]
Wild
dingo dogs can be often met in Fraser island. Sometimes they are very aggressive. You should always travel in a group, and never walk alone.
If you are attacked, defend yourself in the most aggressive way. Unfortunately, Fraser's dingoes often runs in a large group, so even a strong man can hardly do anything.
If you stay in a campsite, don't leave food inside a tent, as the dingo feel the smell of food and may try to steal it. Instead, it is recommended to leave food in your car or hang it up in a container in a place inaccessible for dingoes.
