Vava'u is an archipelago in Tonga with the main island of
Utu Vava'u and many smaller islands with
nice beaches to the south. The north of the large island is rocky, while in the south there are lots of fjords perfect for yacht anchorage. The most popular tourist attractions is swimming with whales. Shore and seabed: stones, sand.

Hotels [edit]
The choice of accommodation options in Vava'u islands is limited, and mainly concentrated around the main town of
Neiafu. However you can easily find both cheap guesthouses from US$50 per night, as well as luxury beach resorts on tiny islands up to US$1000.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tonga International Airport (TBU). Next take a domestic flight to
Vavaʻu International Airport (VAV).
Season charter flights from Fiji are also available during the high season, thus giving to Vava'u airport an international status.
There is also
ferry connection with Nuku'alofa and with Ha'apai islands. But the distance is large, and no one in a clear mind should seriously consider this transportation option.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday on the islands of Vava'u in Tonga is a dry season from May to October. Whales watching is possible from June to November.
