Tucacas is a resort town in Venezuela being the southern entry point to the islands of Morrocoy.
The beaches are very good, though not the best in the National Park. But there is the only beach with ground transportation, where you don't have to take the boat. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
The islets are tiny without any hotels or campsites. So you'll have to spend the night in Tucacas located on the mainland.
The choice of hotels is good enough, but most of these are not presented over the Web. However, on weekdays it is possible to get here without a reservation, as locals usually prefer weekends.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Caracas international airport (CCS) and get by bus to Tucacas (via Puerto Cabello). Next take a boat to the island you need. Usually the fares are per boat, so it will be cheaper to joun a group instead of taking private tour.
When to go [edit]
There is no low season in Tucacas. Relatively rainy period is in July-August, but still it is not very rainy that time.
