Taveuni is an island in the east of Fiji, sometimes called the Garden Island. In practice, this means that there are mountains, jungles and waterfalls, and no many good
beaches. Shore and seabed: rocks, sand.

Hotels [edit]
The island has no great choice of hotels, but you can easily find a suitable option for any budget.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Nadi International Airport (NAN).
Next, you should get to the island of Vanua Levu. The main ferry services between ports of Suva (Viti Levu) and Savusavu (Vanua Levu) are:
Bligh Water Shipping,
Consort Shipping (no website) and
Goundar Shipping. Some of these ferries also follow to Taveuni island.
Next get from Vanua Levu island to Taveuni island. Ferries depart from port of
Savusavu or from
Buca Bay, and arrive to the north-west coast of Taveuni (
Korean Wharf or
Wairiki Wharf).
You can also fly to the
Matei Airport of Taveuni Island. This flight is very popular, so it is necessary to book well in advance. Keep in mind that timetable is often changed, and your flight may be cancealed in the last minute.
When to go [edit]
The best time to travel to the island of Taveuni is a dry season from May to November. However, the waterfalls look much more impressive in the rainy season.
