Taha'a is an atoll being nearest one to the southeast of Bora Bora in French Polynesia. The main island has no decent
beaches at all. So it is only possible to go hiking in the mountains. But the surrounding motus (islets) have great upscale resorts with beaches being almost as good as those on Bora Bora. But you should understand that almost all good beaches are artificial beaches at hotels. Uninhabited motus are suitable for snorkeling only, but not for swimming. Shore and seabed: stones, sand.

Hotels [edit]
There are several guesthouses on the central island with rooms' rates starting from US$120 per night. To be honest, it's not cheap, since there is no any kind of luxury here.
But there are few decent hotels on the islets around. The most notable are
Le Taha'a by Pearl Resorts (room from US$700 per night) and
Vahine Island private resort and Spa.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to the
airport of Bora Bora (BOB), next fly to
Raiatea airport (RFP).
There are also direct flights from Tahiti island, as well as from some other islands. Once you are in Raiatea island, free boat of Air Tahiti will deliver you to Tahaa island. Please also note, that many hotels provide for their guests free transfer from the airport.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Taha'a atoll is a dry season from March to October.
