Saint Lucia island
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Saint Lucia is a small island in the Caribbean. There are
white sand beaches, as well as beautiful mountains. The only problem is that the country is very poor. Thus all public beaches are filled with locals selling their goods. They disturb too much, and won't leave you along, no matter what you do. So it is probably worth to visit it once, but you will unlikely want to return. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Rooms' rates in the hotels of St. Lucia start from as low as US$60 per night. But it is unlikely, that you will get budget holiday. To avoid beach sellers, it makes sense to stay only in luxury beachfront resorts with rooms' fares about US$500 per night. To be honest, for this price tag you'll feel completely happy everywhere in the World.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Hewanorra international airport (UVF) or fly to
Castries regional airport (SLU). Next hire a taxi.
Please note, that most of the best beaches are located in the northern side of the island, while Hewanorra International Airport is in the south. There are often traffic jams on the roads. So a taxi ride from the airport to your hotel often takes several hours, that is ridiculous for such a small island.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Saint Lucia is a dry season from December to May.
