Quirimbas archipelago

Quirimbas is an archipelago in the northern Mozambique. There are about a dozen islands with nice beaches, though not the best in the country. This region is for whose who looking for a place not spoiled by a mass tourism. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

So-called lodges are the most common form of accommodation on the islands. These are expensive luxury hotels with a limited number of beach bungalows. The level of service is usually not very high. On the other hand you'll get superb eco & wild location, but with high-comfort rooms.

The most cheap is to fly to Quirimbas islands via airports of neighboring countries: Dar es Salaam International Airport (DAR) (Tanzania), Nairobi International Airport (NBO) (Kenya) or Johannesburg International Airport (JNB) (South Africa).

Next fly to Pemba International Airport (POL) or fly to Nampula International Airport (APL). Next hire a taxi/speedboat or take a flight on your hotel's private plane.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the islands of Quirimbas is a dry season from April to November. However, if you prefer the warm sea water, it is better to avoid the period from July to September.
