Ponza island

Ponza is an island located a little to the south of Rome in Italy. There are mostly mountains, so many beaches are rocky surrounded by the high mountains. Sometimes stones are falling to the heads of visitors, so look for the warning signs. The island has many ancient caves, as well as numerous sights of the medieval period. How to get there [edit]

Fly to Rome airports of Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino (CIA). Take a train to Anzio, Terracina, Formia or to Naples, and next get to Ponza island by ferry or by hydrofoils / aliscafo. There is a bus service around the island, or you may take boat tours.

The best time for a beach holiday in the island of Ponza is a warm season from July to September.
