Airport sector is the nearest end of the North Male atoll in the Maldives. Local islands can't be considered as a place for a beach holiday, as these have no beaches at all, or bikini is prohibited. Private
island resorts are quite alright, but noise from planes and ships is the real problem. So it is worth to stay here for one or maximum two nights. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
If you prefer expensive island resorts, the best options are Gili Lankanfushi, Baros or Bandos. However, all other islands are good as well, except for the extremely dissapointing
Centara Ras Fushi.
Local islands have also a great choice of accomodation options with rooms' rates starting from US$50 per night. However, the only reason to stay there is an opportunity to spend the night on Hulhumale island before the departure of your plane.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Maldives international airport (MLE). Then get by the bus, or by the state ferry, or by private high-speed boat, - depending on where you need to go.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in North Male atoll is a dry season in the winter half of the year.
