Hotels [edit]
Mauritius is famous for huge amount of luxury five-star hotels. If you want to get the maximum pleasure of your beach holiday, we recommend to choose an expensive hotel with a nice beach. Because the best beaches belong to the hotels in Mauritius.
Budget travelers can also find an inexpensive room. There is evidence that some tourists lived in Mauritius for $10 per night. Though in general the beaches in Mauritius are not very good, however a few good public
beaches are available. Notice that all beaches in Mauritius are considered to be public, so feel free to sunbathe near the water in front of an expensive hotel. Though at a distance of 10 meters from the water's edge the private beach area may begin, where hotel non-residents are not admitted. However, most of the year beach hotels in Mauritius are not very high packed. So in many cases you will be able to have free access to facilities of an expensive hotel - sunbeds, shower and pool.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Mauritius International Airport (MRU). Continue by the taxi or by public transport.
Keep mind that it may be cheaper first to fly to the neighboring
Reunion island, and next fly to Mauritius.
