Manihi Atoll

Manihi is an atoll to the northeast of Rangiroa Atoll in French Polynesia. It is relatively small. However, it's about 20 km in its widest dimention - thus being very long anyway. Sea bottom in the lagoon is rocky, - so no beaches to speak of. Probably, the best swimming area is near the hotel called Pension Poerani Nui. However, even the neighboring Ahe Atoll has much better beaches. So it makes sense to stay here only in case of good discounts for the local hotels. Shore and seabed: stones, sand. [edit]
