Lau islands
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Lau are the most remote islands in Fiji. They are located in the south-east of the country. There are many uninhabited islands and excellent
beaches, but most of that beauty is inaccessible for tourists. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Almost all of the hotels are located on the islands of Vanua Balavu, Lakeba and Moala. Unfortunately, even these properties are not presented in the international booking systems.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Nadi International Airport (NAN). Next take
Bligh Water Shipping,
Lau Shipping (has no website) or
Goundar Shipping ferry from Suva. Most routes are on a per monthly basis, so think about the seaplane.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday in Fiji is a dry season from May to November. However, if you are seriously thinking about these remote islands, you are unlikely to be confused by some rains in the low season.
