Laamu Atoll
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Laamu is a remote atoll in the south of Maldives. This is a rather unusual atoll for Maldives, since almost all
islands are linked in a chain by bridges, or located relatively close to each other. So you won't be locked on a single island, since most of the islands can be easily accessed as an island hopping route. Surprise, but the best island is the main local island of Gan Laamu. There are also two good private islands, though not very notable by the Maldivian standards. The most interesting uninhabited islets are Bokaifushi (1.998812, 73.534213), Vadinolhu (2.017050, 73.358994) and Olhutholhu (1.788662, 73.352255). There are also other islands and sandbanks being pretty nice as well, though not so famous. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
