Koh Lipe is a small island in the south of Andaman coast, Thailand. The
beaches are rather mediocre by Thai standards, and all of the sweet legends about the island goes back to that happy days, when it was almost unknown. As for now, there are too many tourists and too many hotels. So the place was completely spoiled. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are many hotels in Koh Lipe, - maybe too many for such a small island. Unfortunately, it don't make prices to become cheaper. The typical coast of a good room is about US$100 per night, that is very expensive for such a boring beach holiday.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Bangkok international airport (BKK). Next fly to
Trang airport (TST). Take a taxi to
Pak Bara village (Pakbara), and get to Koh Lipe by ferry or by public speedboat. The ferry doesn't operate during the low season, while many people suffer from seasick in a speedboat.
It is also possible to get to Koh Lipe via the Malaysian
Langkawi island located just near Koh Lipe. In this case you should first fly to
Langkawi international airport (LGK), and next take a ferry to Ko Lipe. This is a great option, especially if you are also interested in a holiday in Langkawi.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Koh Lipe island of Thailand is a dry season in the winter half of the year. As for the low season, it is good due to the lack of crowds (unlike the popular winter time).

Useful information [edit]
If you have seen the
Mechanic: Resurrection movie, you are likely to remember the beautiful Koh Lipe beach, where Jason Statham meets Jessica Alba. Sorry, but it would be too good to be true. In fact, that episode was filmed on
Koh Yao Yai island near Phuket. As for Koh Lipe, it has nothing like that.
