Ko Lan island

Ko Lan - is the closest to Pattaya island. In fact today it is same as Pattaya, but without skyscrapers near the beach and with a more clear water. Island beaches are rather mediocre, and it is hard to point out some particularly good one. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

The island has many cheap hotels, but they are located mostly near the main pier - at some distance away from the best beaches.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Bangkok International Airport - Suvarnabhumi (BKK).

Taxi directly from the airport to Pattaya costs about 1500 bahts. Make sure to negotiate the price before the trip to avoid surprises. Journey will take from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic.

There is also frequent bus service between the airport and Pattaya. It departure from Level 1 (Doors 7-8), costs about 150 baht per way and goes about 2 hours (or longer if traffic jams).

During all the day ferry departs from Bali Hai Pier of Pattaya to Na Ban Pier of Koh Lan island. The ferry takes 45 minutes per way and costs 30 baht.

The best time to relax on the beaches of Pattaya is a dry season from November to April.
