Kakeromajima island
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Kakeroma is a medium sized island located near the main island of Amami Oshima in Japan. The coastline is riddled with numerous bays with a lot of
nameless beaches. Swimming is not very convenient in most cases, as the bottom is rocky with occasional patches of sand. So it is worth just to make hiking around the island, having great views. But the best is to rent a bicycle, since the distances are too large to walk everywhere. Shore and seabed: stones, sand.
