Isla Tortuga - the most popular island in Costa Rica. The official name is
Isla Tolinga. There is an
excellent beach, which is very popular among tourists. Most of the island has no any pathways, and is not interesting. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are no hotels on the island. Also camping is not permitted. We recommend to stay in
Paquera town, or in one of the surrounding villages. However, choice of accommodation is poor in this area.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
San Jose International Airport (SJO) or fly to
Liberia International Airport (LIR).
Take bus or taxi to
Paquera town in the south of
Nicoya peninsula. Boats to the "paradise" island leave from many coastal villages:
Montezuma,
Cabuya,
Mal Pais,
Santa Teresa or
Tambor. In most cases, it is a package tour including meals.
When to go [edit]
It is best to go in the dry season from December to April. Relatively good weather is often in November. The rest of time there is a lot of rain - especially in August-October.
