Ha'apai islands
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Ha'apai is a group of islands in Tonga, just to the north of the main island of Tongatapu. Unlike Tongatapu there are many
beaches, which look like a real tropical paradise. As for disadvantages we may note bad transport accessibility and a small number of hotels. And most of the islets are uninhabited. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Ha'apai has no many hotels, but it has no many tourists as well. So anyway you will find a room to stay. Beachfront resorts rates start from US$100 per night.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tonga International Airport (TBU). Next fly to
Haʻapai-Lifuka Airport (HPA).
You may also get by ferry from Nuku'alofa port of Tongatapu island to Lifuka island of Haʻapai archipelago. We don't recommend this transportation method, as it's very long and uncomfortable.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the islands of Ha'apai is a dry cool season from May to October.
