Green island

Green island is an island of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) near the Cairns in Australia. It is the only one in the GBR with tropical rainforest. Near the coast there is a reef with excellent snorkeling. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Green Island Resort is the only hotel on the island. It is small and very expensive with room starting from US$400 per night. Or feel free to choose any suitable hotel in Cairns, and take a daily trip to the island.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Cairns international airport (CNS). Next walk or take a bus to the stop "Cairns City platform 2" (routes 110, 110N, 111, 113, 120, 120N, 121, 123, 130, 131, 131N, 133).

Next walk 600 meters to the pier of Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal. Green Island Cruises and Great Adventures Reef ferries depart to the island few times a day. One way journey takes 45 minutes. Half day tours and full day tours are available.

The best time to travel to islands of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is a dry season from May to November.
