Hotels [edit]
Almost all the hotels are located in
Santa Cruz island. There are also a dozen of hotels in
Isabela island, - in
Puerto Villamil village, featured by the beautiful tropical beach.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Baltra island airport (GPS) or fly to
San Cristobal island airport (SCY).
There is a speedboat connection between main islands. Trip cost $25-30 per person one way. Best way to explore various remote islands is to take few days package tour. Minimum prices for similar tour start at $150 per day.
When to go [edit]
Any time of year. There are two main seasons: dry but cool from May to September, and warm but rainy from September to May.
Though Galapagos Islands are located almost near the equator, cold ocean currents don't allow seawater to warm up to a comfortable temperature. Therefore Galapagos is not best place for a beach holiday.
