Fakarava Atoll

Fakarava is a large atoll located to the southeast of Rangiroa Atoll, French Polynesia. Snorkeling is great almost everywhere. While the swimming is mediocre due to the rocky sea bottom. However, some hotels have good artificial beaches. So it is worth to read a detailed description - with photos and reviews. Please also pay attention to O2 Fakarava dive center with good beach (coordinates -16.079602, -145.614546). This atoll is relatively secluded. But it still have enough tourist activity. Fakarava Auorotini, Hanitea Lodge, Pension Vahitu and Kaipolanie Garden are the major guesthouses on Fakarava Atoll. Rooms' fares start from US$200 per night.

Havaiki Lodge probably has the best beach on the whole atoll. It features that funny tiki huts in the water (coordinates -16.072771, -145.615066).
