Efate island

Efate is the main island of Vanuatu. It hosts the capital town of Port Vila with its international airport. In a contrast to common prejudices, there are some good beaches, though the coastline is mostly rocky. But on the other hand, the snorkeling and diving are perfect almost everywhere. Vanuatu is an expensive country - including the hotels. The minimum rooms' rates start from US$100. But in most cases you should be ready to pay US$200-$300 per night. There are no international hotel chains, but value for money is good in most cases.

Fly to Port Vila international airport (VLI). Next hire a taxi or take a bus.

Vanuatu does not get so many flights like Fiji. However, it is possible to get cheap ticket from Australia, - especially if you book in advance.
