Dunk Island is an island near the
Mission Beach in Australia. In the past it hosted exeptional premium resort, while now walking along the ruins is the main attraction in the island. There is no swimming net, so be aware of crocodiles and marine stingers in the water. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Dunk Island Resort is a luxury hotel with room fare from US$1,000 per night. Now it's closed since 2011 after being seriously damaged by the hurricane. So the camping is the only accommodation option directly on the island.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Cairns international airport (CNS). Next take a shuttle minibus to the
Mission Beach.
Next hire a water taxi. These are often can be met along the Wongaling beach offering daily trips to the neighboring islands.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Dunk Island is a dry season from May to November.
