Cocos Islands is an atoll in the Indian Ocean near Australia. Almost all of the atoll's motus have good
beaches of a different quality. We recommend lagoon boat safaries to various islands and sandbanks. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Cocos Islands is a tourist destination of a premium class, so hotels are expensive (room rates start from 150 US dollars per night). Please, book in advance in a high season, as all hotels are completely filled.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Cocos (Keeling) Island Airport (CCK). Next walk on your own, or hire a taxi, or take a ferry, - depending on what exact island you need.
There are flights to the Cocos Islands only from Australian town of Perth. So if you don't live in Australia, there's no reason to visit these remoted islands. Europeans would prefer Maldives, while Americans have glorious French Polynesia in the South Pacific.
Air plane on its way from Perth makes a stop at Christmas Island, which is also an Australian territory. Thus it makes sense to try to visit both islands in one journey.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Cocos Islands is a dry season from August to January.

Useful information [edit]
Keeling Islands are a popular destination among ocean yacht owners, as it's good located on the way from Bali to Mauritius. Ironically, the quality of the beaches is much better than those in Bali and even in comparison with Mauritius.
