Bora Bora is an atoll in the South Pacific, French Polynesia. Famous for its lagoon with overwater bungalows. The
best beaches are located in expensive resorts located on remote
motu (islands) along the perimeter of atoll. However, budget travelers have also some opportunities. Shore and seabed: sand, coral chips.

We recommended to live a bit in different hotels around the atoll and spend at least one night in a water bungalow. The most expensive rooms - with Mount Otemanu view - symbol of Bora Bora. If you prefer Big central island, try to choose a hotel on
Matira Point, as it is the best public beach in Bora Bora.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tahiti International Airport (PPT). Then fly to
Bora Bora Airport (BOB). Budget travelers can get from Tahiti to Bora Bora by
Aremiti 4 ferry, which runs once a week.

Any time, except for the rainy season from December to February. Keep in mind that the peak tourist season (and prices) is from June to August.

You can significantly save on food if buy groceries at supermarket in the central
Vaitape village (near the church).
There is a motor boats rental (from $150 for a half day) located on the Matira Point beach, so there is a unique opportunity to explore the lagoon sailing on your own boat. The best beaches are located on remote
motu, but most of the coast is a private property with limited access. Nevertheless, there are some good free sites.
