Baa Atoll is the best atoll in the Maldives. It has the
superb beaches - with white sand, palms, clear calm water and without crowds of tourists. And all of that is available both on island resorts, as well as on inhabited islands. In addition, there is also iconic
Hanifaru Bay being an outstanding spot for diving and snorkeling. Again, it is possible to visit Hanifaru Bay, even if you have a very limited budget. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Four Seasons, Amilla Fushi and Finolhu Kanifushi are the main upscale resorts in Baa atoll. There is also a good choice of middle range private islands with rooms' fares starting from US$200 per night.
Most of the local islands are also very good (except for Maalhos and Thulhaadhoo), and can offer an excellent selection of cheap guesthouses from US$50 per night. In most cases, rooms are good enough, but the meals are rather poor. So it makes sense to buy some fruits in Male market before you move to Baa atoll.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Male international airport (MLE). There are
no cheap government ferry to Baa atoll. So the main transportation options are public speedboats (from US$40 per person per way, 2-3 hours) or expensive seaplanes.
There is also
domestic airport (DRV) in Dharavandhoo island. The flight from Male takes 20 minutes (US$90 per way, children discounts are available).
When to go [edit]
The dry season in the Maldives is a period from January to April. However, rainy season is good as well, since there are few sunny days during the week anyway.
